Thanks to the generosity of the Kimel Family, Baycrest has begun refreshing and modernizing our campus this month to make it more accessible, energy efficient and welcoming for our community.

Baycrest’s Main Entrance #4 on Bathurst Street, will expand in size to better accommodate staff, visitors and clients travelling to the Brain Health Complex, one of our many day programs or other parts of the organization. This high-traffic hub will also receive upgraded heating, cooling and ventilation units to help control the indoor temperatures all year round.

The Brain Health Complex is also being renamed The Kimel Family Building in recognition of the family’s contributions to Baycrest over the years. Our hope is that we can continue to renovate and modernize other common spaces throughout Baycrest in a similar fashion over the coming years.

Baycrest is working hard to minimize any disruptions during the construction and renovations while continuing to provide accessibility to all of our regular programs and services. The parking lot at Entrance #4 will remain open during this phase of construction.

Way-finding signs have been placed at the Bathurst Street and Kimel Family Building Entrances. Renovations are expected to be complete in late summer 2016.
